Barkeeping is built so that your data stays yours. This policy explains what the app stores and who can see it.

What Barkeeping stores

Barkeeping stores the dogs you add, their care history (feeding, bathroom trips, and notes), and the name you enter to identify who logged an event. This data is stored using Apple's CloudKit, in your own private iCloud account — the same technology Apple's own apps like Notes and Reminders use to sync your data across your devices.

We don't collect your data

Barkeeping has no servers of its own. There is no analytics software, no advertising software, and no tracking of any kind in the app. Nothing you enter into Barkeeping is sent to us, to advertisers, or to any third party. We — the developer — have no ability to see your dogs, their care history, or any other content you enter.

Family sharing

If you choose to share your dogs with family members, Barkeeping uses Apple's CloudKit sharing feature to give the people you invite access to the same dogs and care history — the same way you might share a Reminders list or a Photos album. Only people you explicitly invite can see this data. You can remove a person's access at any time.

Notifications, widgets, and Live Activities

Reminders, the Home Screen widget, and Live Activities are all computed and stored entirely on your own device. This data is not sent anywhere else, including to us.

Children's privacy

Barkeeping is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and update the date at the top.
